02.02.2008, 14:21 Un rumeur court sur l'internet depuis peu de temps: la recherche du contenu d'un site en Flash/Flex devrait être améliorée sur Google.

En effet, d'après un interview avec Matt Cutts, Google semblerait avoir changé de méthode pour indexer le contenu d'un fichier *.swf: il utilise désormais un outil ( Flash Search Engine SDK) que Adobe mets à disposition des développeurs. Cet outil consiste à récupérer le contenu d'un fichier *.swf et le mettre dans un fichier *.html, accessible aux googlebots.

"It is a good question. I think that we do a pretty good job of reading textual content. Now, stuff within Flash is binary and you can define it in terms of characters and strokes - so you can have things that look like normal text - but that are completely weird and are not really normal text. So it can be difficult to pull the text out a Flash file. I think we do pretty well. It used to be the case that we had our own, page d'accueil-brew code to pull the text out of Flash, but I think that we have moved to the Search Engine SDK tool that Adobe/Macromedia offers. So, my hunch is that most of the search engines will standardize on using that Search Engine SDK tool to pull out the text. The easiest way to know whether you have textual content that can be read in a Flash file, is that you could always use that tool toi-même and verify as well."

Plusieurs sites sont créés entièrement en flash, ce qui inquiète leurs développeurs car les moteurs de recherche ont toujours du mal à déchiffrer leur contenu. Maintenant que Google a pris conscience de la nécessité de ne pas freiner les développeurs avec des problèmes de référencement, l'avenir de l'internet serait-il basé sur le flash?
